About My India Ink Drawings
I do not make photocopies or
any kind of commercial reproductions of my India ink drawings. Some of
my drawings I like so much, that I can’t make just one. So, I copy
my original by taping it to a window and taping a fresh piece of paper
over it. I redraw it freehand with a brush and india ink. It’s
really hard to get the lines just right and I usually have to make 10
bad ones before I get a good one. So, each one of these drawings are
originals, but copied by my own hand. You can compare and see subtle
differences where the brush slips a little bit one way or another.

ARTIST'S STATEMENT
One can’t help but fall in love
with one’s model just for a moment; the sweep of the hair; the line
of the brow; the curve of the buttock; the fullness of the cheek. Do
we all see this? Or is it just me? I think most people would see it.
Most would not admit it. How can one help but fall in love with such
beauty as the human form? Isn’t it funny that we paint and draw at
our easels when maybe, writing poetry would be more appropriate?
"This is a line of poetry sublime: ink on paper is poetry of
line." ..... Oh, shut up and draw!
