The Byzantine weave is beautiful. Its a little tricky to get started, but once you get the hang of it you can make this chain up rather quickly. Use 18g 6mm rings.  Try experimenting with other sizes and gauges!

Step 1. Pass 2 open rings (green) through 4 closed rings.

Step 2. Fold the last 2 rings back, split the center rings, and bring the folded rings together as shown.

 

Step 3. Add the 4 rings shown above.

 

Step 4. Add 2 more rings, then fold these back like you did previously.

 

Step 5. Add 2 more rings, then repeat steps 3-5.
